On November 27, the “Riga Academy for the Rights of People with Disabilities” began its work in Latvia, Riga, organized by the NGO Sustento in collaboration with the European Forum of Persons with Disabilities.
Participants familiarized themselves with the best practices in implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Latvia. They shared their achievements and experiences, including the work of the Ombudsman’s Office in Latvia and the Ministry of Welfare. Aldis Dūdiņš, Director of the Department of Social Policy and Disability Policy, also shared his insights.
At the end of the first day, everyone had the opportunity to get to know each other, exchange thoughts, analyse colleagues’ experiences, and enjoy pizza in a friendly atmosphere.
